Feeling like locals today

Today was the first beautiful tuscan day...sun was shining and we decided to take full advantage!  First stop was a lovely tuscan town about 20 minutes away called Pietrasanta. Its a seaside town and given that we are "off season" it was very quiet.  Luckily the monthly antique fair was going on so that brought a few more people.  We were definitely probably the only tourists.  As you can see from the pictures...it was VERY quiet.  We bought a couple of little mementos and had a beautiful lunch.
Beautiful little tuscan town

Next stop was to another seaside town called Viareggio also about 20 minutes from us in the opposite direction.  Today was the final weekend of Carnevale in Viareggio...an annual carnival which is much like Mardi Gras.  It was so much fun to see all of the local families enjoying the beautiful day with their children.  The floats were amazing and so extravagant.  I dont think the pictures do them justice but hopefully you can get the idea. The video clip that I sent was of the float that was built and designed by a group of locals including the gentleman that manages the villa that we are renting! It turns out it was our favorite even before we knew that!   We got home before the sunset and had just enough time to snap some outdoor shots.  Providing the weather holds up, we are planning to head out to Sienna tomorrow for an overnight visit. Ciao!

Beautiful views to come home to!
